  • The Sarasota County School Boards' PALS Partners in Education

Scott Kallins was chosen as the 2009 - 2010 Outstanding Business Partner. Kallins was presented this distinguished award at a recognition breakfast held at Michael's on East on April 15, 2010. Kallins has been coaching boy's lacrosse at the Sarasota Military Academy for the past 5 years, before that he developed the Lakewood Ranch program. Kallins enjoys giving back to the community by connecting with its youth. Kallins was a star college player himself at Western Maryland and truly loves the sport. He was also the Manatee County bar association 2009 Community Service award winner and has been the Chairman of the board of the Manatee County YMCA and on various other civic and community boards.

Mr. Kallins was selected to receive the Commissioner's Business Award. This esteemed award represents Mr. Kallins outstanding commitment to improving education by partnering with schools in the community. Scott tirelessly gives his time and expertise as a School Advisory Committee member and coach of the Sarasota Military Academy's Lacrosse team. Whether donating financial support to the school, or volunteering his time, Scott Kallins serves as a mentor and excellent role model for students.

We congratulate Scott for being among this year's group of 12 distinguished nominees for The Justice Harry Lee Anstead Award for Florida Bar Board Certified Lawyer of the Year. The Florida Bar received the greatest number of nominees this year in the award's history, and each lawyer among the group is well-qualified to receive the award. The Florida Bar honored each of the nominees and the recipient during The Florida Bar Annual Convention at the certified Lawyers reception sponsored by Florida Lawyers Mutual Insurance Co.

The Justice Harry Lee Anstead Award for The Florida Bar Board Certified Lawyer of the Year recognizes a Florida board-certified lawyer for exemplary professionalism, excellence, character and commitment to The Florida Bar's certification program and the practice of law.

Kallins law firm has a major impact in the community with its scholarship program. Each year the firm gives scholarship funds to graduating seniors and has donated over $65,000 to further the education of young people in the community.

Kallins is a hard working and dedicated attorney who is board certified and has been licensed as an attorney in Florida since 1984.

Scott B. Kallins
Mr. Kallins is a Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer and has been active in various legal organizations including Manatee County Bar Association, Florida Academy of Trial Lawyers, and the American Bar Association. Presently, Mr. Kallins serves as the Chairman of the Board of the Manatee County YMCA, Chairman of the City of Bradenton Retention Merit Board and, serves as an executive board member for the Green and Gold Club an affiliate of McDaniel College in Westminster, Maryland. Mr. Kallins is the head coach of the Sarasota Military Academy Varsity Lacrosse Team. His interests include; travel, sports, and sailing.

Melton H. Little
Mr. Little is 1 of 9 attorneys out of more than 70,000 in the Florida Bar to be both Board Certified in Marital and Family Law and Board Certified in Civil Trial Law. Mr. Little became Board Certified in Marital & Family Law in June, 1993. He became Board Certified in Civil Trial Law in June, 2004. His practice is in the areas of Personal Injury, Wrongful Death, Medical Malpractice and Marital and Family Law. Mr. Little has been active in various legal organizations, including, the Florida Academy of Trial Lawyers, American Bar Association, American Trial Lawyers Association, The Florida Bar and Manatee County Bar. His interests include sports, golf, and reading. He has two sons and resides in Bradenton.
